If we playing 2 A, 2 B and 1 mid on Dust 2 as CT I will often sit in window to cover tunnel and mid, so if we need to rotate to A , I can move to mid while mid moves on to A.

But if you playing T on dust I find the best thing is for the T closest to Long Doors to try get the pick, and for someone to flash him in.
Or if CT is beating you to the pick then smoke the corner and push out.
Your spawn is going to affect your strategy. You can't start from a B side spawn and expect to get through Long doors before a CT has that corner covered.

This is why learning to use your Utilities like flashes and smokes are so important.

Yeah, I want to try learn the shortcuts for purchases rather than opening the menu and scrolling around, so I can get running more quickly.
 
Hey guys,

So after the update I and many others have experienced high pings etc, when you do a status check in console you may see that you are connected to spain or eu servers. So this seems like a direct result of the "Expanded the official datacenter in South Africa." part of the update.

Only thing I have noticed is that my (and others have confirmed as well) network_config.json file is now different and missing the CPT and JHB sections. I dont know alot about the inner workings but I know these entries were always there and now they are gone.

Have you been playing today after the update? And do we have any confirmation that the server upgrade is complete?

I wonder if the data centre upgrade is linked to Microsoft's notification yesterday that their new data centre in South Africa has officially opened (which is where they'll be doing all their Azure hosting from locally).

If Counterstrike hosts on Azure, it might be tied into that.

Yes I have played after the update and have a few friends online as well at the moment. all reporting the same thing. I have no idea about the server upgrades or where to find the info but I would assume that the update/patchnotes etc would not be released if this was not the case? Not even sure who really hosts the servers (mweb?) maybe someone can shoot the provider a message?

I was having the same issue with servers last night, however my update only happened this morning, so I think we were being diverted while they upgraded.

Ah, well I have tried a few things including now reinstalling, stupidly. So I will see.

It will eventually come right just sucks when you have limited off days and would like to play :D
 
Oh my, that explains my "high" yet just just playable ping, I was shutting down networked devices down, trying to identify the culprit without success.

Was about 200 to 220.
