I don't think the servers were ever overloaded in the time you've been playing and now I think you're never going to experience it.

You joined at a great time, I've noticed a lot of growth over the last month, this thread and the ones on Carbonite haven't been this active in ages.

Mmmm ... it's ok, rather say I played a bit less crap lol. When I get over 10 kills in a comp then I'll say I'm starting to get somewhere Another four comps and I should be there. My first couple I got 2 kills, and tonight I was up to 5 and 6 respectively.

You'll get there. I only started to play a bit better after 20 or so games. I still play horribly, but try to improve every time I play.

Ok, so for the benefit of the players who weren't on our little Discord chat tonight, we discovered two useful things:
1 -> You can enable 'overlay' in Discord's settings (and just select the small setting) to show you who's speaking while you're playing CS:GO
2 -> The overlay appears by default top-left, over the CS:GO map. Just press Shift and ` (Console button) together and the Discord overlay will expand, hover your mouse over it and press Mouse 3 to move it wherever you want on the screen.

The challenge for me is that a deathmatch teaches you nothing (apart from aiming in a clutch situation), so I think I'm going to try solo-queuing on comps if nobody else is online and see where I get. If I'm gonna put in the same effort I'd rather have it under comp rules than demolition rules, and then if we *do* win at least it counts towards my 10 needed for ranking.

Try a Free For all 128 tick DM. That will teach you how to get confirmed kills. I played against Soul Assassin this evening, his aim is very good.
