I looked at the EC1-A because it's pretty much the same bracket as the G403 (price, design, features - all pretty similar). I like simplicity so both those mice are right up my street.
What swung the G403 for me was the newer sensor (and yes, the name

).
Not a fan of Razer stuff...tried one of their mice many years ago and wasn't impressed with the quality so I never went back.
Razer is all in the name, it is driven by marketing. SteelSeries as well, but these companies do have superb products. Talking Razer, it has some build quality issues, however the Deathadder is the most popular gaming mouse and it is valued by a large gaming community, mainly due to a working recipe. Razer’s biggest Achilles’ heel is their driver app which is buggy.
Zowie, well, it is not an everyday mouse, it is a gaming workhorse. It is a well build product, however it comes at a price. There is no bells or whistles attached to this, you plug it in and play. BenQ needs to work on their pricing strategy, their mouse bungee is bloody expensive.
I also had a look at the Roccat Kone Pure Owl-Eye, it is an impressive expensive mouse. The military version is a good alternative, but I read that the 3310 sensor in it is loose and may tilt out during gaming.
My options currently are between,
1) Zowie EC2-A
2) Razer Blackadder Elite
3) Roccat Kone Pure Owl-Eye
Or,
4) Zowie FK2
5) CM MasterMouse S
It is going to be a hard week, but I will need to import 3 or 5 pending on my choice and availability. Many believe the MasterMouse S is the best gaming peripheral ever made by CM. I will take the Kone Pure Owl-Eye over the Blackadder Elite, it is only the import-rma issue that I may experience.
I have recently acquired a Cougar Revenger, and it is a bloody good mouse and alternative to the Steelseries Rival 100, but the Rival 100 is better weighted. People who like heavy mice, the Revenger at its price is awesome. I got it because it was the cheapest mouse with a 3360 sensor at the time.
A Zowie EC3 is rumoured to be on the way...
