CSGO Sticky thread

I tested it out again. The numbers are way too low tonight. It is best to try it between 16:00-19:00 weekly and over weekends or during the holidays. The highest the search number went now was around 815 and that is global.

Valve is likely to patch something into the game to revitalise the game mode.

You can already see existing lobbies in the game.

Wait what. Can you see how many players on SA servers playing say DM dust or casual defusal A? (Without entering each game/game type). This use to be possible in older cs versions. Is this feature still available in csgo and I missed it?

Oh no. You can see open competitive lobbies, that’s what I meant.

Depends, if its custom servers one can see, the Server browser is still a thing, else if its official servers its not possible.

I'm thinking we should try and mobilise and organise SA players, in part to avoid this dust DM infinite loop we're stuck in. You can always find players in Dust DM because everyone goes there by default. Its kinda like the SA lobby for CSGo.

Perhaps a schedule of sorts...
Weekly danger zone hour at 9pm.
Workshop Wednesdays
DM match groups "defusal donnerdag" etc

Dust 2 is a popular map, I prefer Cache and Overpass myself, but for warming up Dust 2 is perfectly fine. If I really feel like warming up properly I play on a FFA server.

Have fun watching that game if anyone wants to see me rage quit for the first time, if ever, in CS due to information overload.

Shame man he got pretty excited about it. I mean I was a bit shocked they were in normal mm and not on faceit/esea. Either way still a pretty fun match for the bashing we got...

Next we get a line up like that, everyone chill, because from the offset we switched off into casual mode debating the opposition. I tried to dismiss it and talk around it, but to no avail I quit to take a breather, I apologise for that. Could have won more rounds ;)

I play my best against worthy opposition.

Yeah dust2 is a nice map, but specifically in SA is seems like its more popular simply because everyone goes there like moths to a candle. If you want to play at 1am in the morning you better be willing to play dust2 DM.

Who hosts/manages the SA valve servers?

It isn’t in Cape Town, that I can tell you. Valve ended their partnership with IS (and MWEB), in regard to hosting CS:GO and DOTA2, and I don't 'exactly' know who is hosting it now.

Yeah, many people like de_dust2.

Sure thing. Still think it's going to be schit with the ping...

That would be pending on the netcode.

PUBG is matured, but the netcode still struggles and it has an FPS issue.

Fortnite has a good netcode. RoE has a superb netcode considering that the game is still pre-release. RoE also use P2P mechanics within their distribution nodes like Apex Legends so let's see how it goes.
