CSGO Sticky thread

Valve's new approach to the operation is casino like, you have your buy-in. You earn in-game credits with which you can gamble and once you are hooked you buy more stars. Agent, sorry, Commander Mae is the only non-gamble item.

Well played, GabeN.

Valve is so good at updating CSGO that they have broken Overwatch. If you download a demo played on de_mirage then it disconnects. Mirage was updated. The remedy is to download the official Mirage 1.37.7 from the CSGO workshop, but apparently that is also broken for some.

I don't have Overwatch anymore...I am unranked, a pleb, a noob, a silver in-waiting.

I played a comp. MM is broken. One taps for days, the skill ceiling has raised a lot.

The game is fine, and yes, MM is broken, but it is still fine. What isn't fine is the Cape Town route to the hosts. Just yesterday I couldn't figure out why my sprays doesn't stick, only to see that I had 7-10% loss. Last night I played one more game, with loss and all, easy game as I figured with the ranks, me being the only non-blue rank, yikes!, only to end failing badly. I am only as consistent as my mood, if something goes jank I am out of the game even if the quality of my game recuperates. Anyway, so I head in with high loss and all into one final game, and it was bearable until the connection bombed out, levelling at precisely 337mn ping (no more no less), and then when the ping came back down my loss was +20%. I just wanted the match to end, lost it at the end as well.

My issue with ADSL was that I could game, but do nothing else, however, the connection for the most part was stable, and now with fibre it is all over the place. I know why, but it isn't something I will discuss here.

I deal with cheaters, but I cannot deal with a bad user experienced which is forced.

For me the issue is the game seems to think I need to play against higher ranks, which is very difficult. LEM's one tap me like its no ones business, which means I start hating the game.

What I won’t mind Valve doing at the moment is evaluating their new competition mode, and keep it as a paid addition to the game. Once the operation is concluded, pass holders get to keep the mode and the rest have to pay. This will eliminate many cheaters which will then need to stick to the traditional comp mode.

I am sure the new stats system (or display to be precise) will roll out to everyone once the operation is done and dusted.

I see there are a new wave of complaints on the CSGO discussion boards. Overwatch bans are coming in from left, right and centre. Either Overwatch has gone to the dogs or it is now being abused.

Who knows, maybe they are all cheaters.

overwatch scam

Overwatch in csgo is now officially a scam, 7 yrs ive had this game and not once hacked, i abhor hackers and yet some kid with no clue as to how i play has deemed that i hacked trifector. Impossible.
Not with 3.6k hrs in game $100's in skins personalised to my preference, and was my fav go to game to play
Now it's been ruined further imo, (forsaking free to play disaster).
I dont hack, i dont add anything to the files like others, i just have 3.6k hrs and am comfortable at gn2. if i was hacking i would be much much higher.

CSGO PLAYERS BEWARE !!!!!!!
there is something definately wrong with overwatch at the moment

Shame.

Oof 3.6k hrs and he gn2 lol
Not everyone takes the game seriously. Playing to win and playing for fun is different things and both valid. There is also a lot of community servers. Comps isn't all everyone makes it out to be. Many players prefer not to play competitive due to the toxicity of the player base. I hate the player base just as much as everyone else.

There are more, but I ignore the Steam 0 lvl account complaints because they are mostly either trolls or alt accounts,

and the CheatStrike topic,

Do remember, not every player is playing Steam's Matchmaking, there are many FACEIT, ESEA and other PUG players. You will also sometimes see pros in their CSGO menu with either no rank or a mediocre rank.

To be blue rank and get caught cheating must mean that you are terrible at hacking the game. Overwatch only applies to Wingman, Competitive Matchmaking and now also to the Premier Mode (which is currently paygated).

As said in my previous post, not everyone is chasing ranks on Steam's MM. I heard that cheating is also now a problem on FACEIT and ESEA, and they leverage independent anti-cheats.

 Since Denuvo anti-cheat was bombed by the community, irrespective whether you play Doom Eternal or not, it doesn't seem that anti-cheat devs cares any more. Just check Fall Guys, complaining about cheaters publicly can get you banned. Valve also bans you now when you name and shame.

The main issue with Premier mode is that it will always end up with someone being bitter because a map of their choosing was not banned and that people don't actually like Mirage. I hate Mirage. Its an over played and over hyped map.

I want to play Faceit again, but time doesn't like me so I stick to Matchmaking, but I'm questioning my decisions every time I play MM and it ends with uneven games or teams mates that can't be bothered to speak to others and call out. Great callouts like "Oh no" really makes it hard to see where someone was killed. Then they proceed to get angry because I don't know where "Oh no" is.

I think essentially there isn't really a way to stop cheaters. Eventually Valorant will have to deal with the same issue, which will take away the appeal it currently has.
