CSGO Sticky thread

Just to point out - that's actually a big adjustment. You went up over 50% more in-game sense than before.

Give yourself a break if you're not hitting shots yet.
Its massive. I just tried it in DM now, I'm getting my ass handed to me. I will have to paly on my alt for a while I think.

Should I buy the Viper Ultimate?
I haven't used one, but the feedback I have heard is nothing short of stellar. Just make sure that it is the right shape for you. Just like the Logitech G Pro it might be uncomfortable, for some, but I won't be able to tell you. Obviously you should get used to it in a couple of weeks.

I personally would prefer the Logitech, but for me it is more a question of brand loyalty.

There are some really good mice now, and unfortunately a lot of them aren't available in South Africa. The new Steelseries mice series looks dope, but I wait on the reviews as the brand has succumbed under the harsh esports scene competition.

It's pretty much the same shape as the Model O I have now, I think it's just a wee bit shorter.

I naturally thought well Model O goes Model O Wireless, no brainer and then all the recessed side button, squeaky wheel, squeaky right click issues popped up in my research.

Then someone pointed out the Viper Ultimate is only R300 more and the only real issue I found was the mouse clicks felt a little too mushy for people but that was "fixed" in all of the later production ones after August/September 2020.

The Viper Ultimate, most of the new Razer series, has optical switches, so a large part of it is firmware (and the tuning thereof). I am unaware of the mushy side of things, but the optical switches convinced a lot of users.

So is using low dpi and high sensitivity in-game better than the reverse? If so, why?

Lol, it is more meta than anything else. The only thing which matters is your eDPI, but it is a matter of user preference. Being said, eDPI is only accurate'ish if you use RAW input and ish being said that lifting, the surface you play on and the speed you move your mouse at, or better said friction, influences the travel of the sensor.

Many players hate on mouse acceleration, but there is a small amount of players including pros who prefer acceleration, especially on a stage of micro movement or adjustment.

I personally prefer RAW input. If you do have a laser sensor, the acceleration of the sensor is native so no real method of disabling it.

If 3kliksphilip is going to nitpick on frame skipping, then it is also a matter of which sensor your mouse uses. There are loads of sensors though I would say that most of the newer sensors since 2018 are on par if not the same but slightly modified where polling rates was prior also a matter of subject.

Anyway, this guy has a good explanation,

From the sound of things it looks like the early models the buttons had pretravel before the switch would actually actuate.

So nothing wrong with the actual click or the switch, more than likely some QC issue with the case where the buttons were more wobbly than they should have been.

Valve doing something? What happened?

They made a U-turn on F2P. Yes, the game is still F2P, but ranked matches are now pay gated. It still won't solve their cheating problem.

For Valve's sake, though they themselves enabled this, they are now acting against these bad actors, /cough which as I said they enabled, but will obviously not recognise or acknowledge it. Basically, they made a move against malicious activities like bots (especially traders), boosting, etc., and not against cheaters per se.

The community is unhappy. Ranked account holders are all having a laugh whilst unranked account holders are pissed, and the latter group seems to be in the many.

In summary, you cannot earn Prime any more, Prime is pay-to-play, and non-Prime accounts are limited to casual and unranked mode.

The cherry on top being that only Prime accounts can grind drops and exp.

I won't solve the cheating problem, you are right. Most cheaters buy accounts that has been farmed. Farmed accounts however are prohibited. Now the main advantage is that the cheaters will need to pay more money if they manage to get banned which will slow down the cheating significantly. Hopefully a Vac wave comes soon to clean out the dodgy stuff that has been happening.

I just tested out a game of DM, looked at the accounts. There are going to be a lot of upset people in MM for the next while
