So our current router has decided to die on us and we are now having to look at a new router. Found the Cuda AC 1200 router on Takealot and it seems like a good little router but I don’t know the brand. Anybody know if it is worth looking at for basic home internet? Is it also compatible with Telkom and their Sim cards?

Is it not cudy?

Anyway, can't give any feedback have not used any of their devices.

Stay away from the chinese off brand routers, they wont have good support or security, invest into a basic Mirotik AC Lite (with a usb modem), or if possible a Unifi based system.

Or if you are on a extreme budget D-link or absolute worse case TP-Link (Slightly better than the chinese off brands but still terrible)

LOL everything is made in china and there is nothing wrong with Cudy budget friendly and it works.

Got a Cudy WR1300 from CoolIdeas. Liking it so far. Better range than the old TP link and even uses less power. More settings and all that jazz.

Have the Cudy WR1300 and it works great!
Has Mesh capability, UI is simple to use and has all the features i need. WiFi is pretty decent, but I do want to get another one for the one part of the house as the wifi gets a little weak there.
I prefer it over the TPLink i had, the wifi was not great on the TP Link.

That's my kinda Cuda...

Asus routers are great, I still have a DSL-AC52U and they still release firmware updates for it where security is concerned.

Yet I would not spend any money on AC in this day and age. AX or GTFO.
