Cure for stuttering?

Believe me, most people notice it... your friends and family get used to it and help you along... others make fun of you because you can't speak like they do.... it's definitely not a turn-on, not even close.
+1

no ways! i always start everything i say with ummm:eek:

but that came naturally
Yes it works, but I know a lot of people who started with something similar, and ended up using it before almost every word. Thats not a good thing, and also sounds not good. But if it works for you its good.

And it gets worse when you are nervous?

I know breathing techniques work... And typing all conversations work for me but mine is just nerves..

I heard it goes away the first time you have sex. Makes sense yo-yo-yo-you kn-kn-know! <sorry>

You're right about singing though. Ever heard of Scatman John? He stuttered to hell and back again but, like all stutterers, he's fluent when he sings. He even wrote a hit song about stuttering. Go look him up. Just sing!

I uses to sstutter vvery bbbbbadly until I was diagnosed with a stress disorder and panic attacks. I was put on Zopax, generic for xanor. Since then I can speak fluently and no stutter.
Yes, Zopax is addictive in large dosses but 0.25mg per day is not. Have been on this for 15 years.

mine is shyness.... terrible shyness.

It goes away when i know the people around me better.

Yes it gets worse. When I was about 10 I went for speech therapy. The lady told my parents its due to wrong breathing rhythm. Then after a while I had to stop due to financial reasons, so I never got good therapy. But now I think it's a nervous thing too.

And you have any side affects? May I ask what is the cost involve with it?

Lol, marco, no offense but that was a bit odd. Like saying "crack's not addictive, TRUST ME! I've been doing it for 15 years."
Well if someone told me crack work, I'll do it definitely. :D

From some of the things I've read on the net, confidence plays a big roll in helping someone who stutters. If your friend has any confidence issues try find some ways to eliminate these issues, it may help.

How much do you take?
I used to be on 4.5mg pd. for one month and was weaned down to 0.5mg pd.
Sometimes I forget to take a pill in the morning and only realize it when I start to stutter. No craving for it. A few Docs told me 0.5mg pd is harmless.
The price is R37.00 a month.

I've been stuttering (was very bad at first, now it's better though) for 12 years now... been through several therapists, etc... still not gone :)

Really? Does that mean that maybe your forum nickname is actually "frot"?

:D

I find it sexy actually.

Reminds me of Gareth from British Pop Idol. I wanted to jump his bones whenever he started stuttering.

You have some serious issues dudette
