Currently Recommended ADSL ISPs

I am really upset with telkom internet, and want to switch my ADSL to another ISP. I have researched mybroadband's Top ADSL ISP surveys, and found changes over the years (to be expected). But when checking my current shortlist against hellopeter, i find every one has at least one (ex)customer saying, "don't touch them with a barge pole". This has left me very confused. Perhaps surprisingly, I am not looking for the "best", because I think it a rather nebulous rating. All I want is an ISP with a reasonably reliable ADSL service, support and billing. Looking forward to some comments, and hope they don't leave me more confused than before. PS: I would prefer FTTH but suspect it'll take a decade to get to Edenvale.
 
Very happy with my Afrihost capped account.
Also recently got the Asus N17U Router and it most definitely improved my internet experience over my old cheap D-Link.
 
Been with VOXX for years now. Absolutely brilliant service and absolutely zero shaping on my uncapped. Love them to bits and waiting on Fibre rollout in my area to see if they will accommodate uncapped unshaped. I rate VOXX best ISP in SA (IMHO)
 
Afrihost is top notch, especially when it comes to support! I've never waited more than an hour to get a response from them.

I submitted a ticket with WebAfrica yesterday morning at 11:55 and I've still not received a response, Afrihost support is the best.
 
I find hellopeter to be fairly unreliable. There will always be people who are unhappy with a service who will post dire warnings about them, in an effort to get some kind of "revenge"

And often it also has to do with line faults that the ISP can do nothing about.

I'm currently on Afrihost Capped, going well. Crystal Web is also good.
Afrihost if you're on a budget, Crystal Web if you want a premium (that's worth it, unlike e.g. Mweb).
 
Afrihost but then you all know i would say that ;) :D but seriously, Crystal Web is pretty awesome, and the support there is great as well.

Have a look at the speeds of the different ISP's and make up your own mind ;)

Moved from telkom to axxess and it is great , would recommend them or afrihost anyday !
