Hello

Is there a market in South Africa for custom build home audio speakers?
Is there anyone doing it already?

There are a few but it’s a very difficult market to crack because making a very good speaker that's a complete package with both looks and performance is a very difficult task, both to make it and price it attractively.

Bentley is a well-established SA speaker manufacturer.
There are already several small constructors but no large market share

Suggest look at the SA AVForums, thete are similar speaker builders you can compare notes with

not really because most who want something like that are DIY enthusiasts so will build their own or just buy commercially pro-built stuff (well known brand names)

BUT

many factors could influence this, for example if your stuff looks like its out of this world then sure its possible people will buy it - and for the serious buyers if it sounds good and secondarily looks good then they may buy them ..... do you have photos of stuff that you have built ..... because if we see a sample of your handiwork we may be able to judge potential demand better

Edit as chrisc mentioned above Bentley is a local manufacturer, and while Vivid Audio is based in the UK the factory making the speakers is in Pinetown (these are definitely only for the well heeled audiophiles whose affordability is above mortal status because the guy who designs these speakers is the same guy who penned the legendary B&W Nautilus speakers)
