Customer Slips ~ I got nailed!

Not very good at all, unfortunate for the lady that slipped an fell, but how does one not notice a puddle of liquid on the floor and walk around it instead of stepping on it.

We looked at this over and over, the puddle was slightly larger than an A4 size piece of paper, about 30cm off from the upright fridge! The customer was pushing a double decker trolley and viewing the merchandise on the shelf, no other customer in front of her.... so the trolley obstructed her immediate view of the puddle.

Makes sense, maybe I'm just a bit neurotic about these things, can't step on cracks or tile lines.. Still.

But good that all worked out in the end for all. Hope she is okay with a speedy recovery from the incident.

..... Closing time and I reckon somebody has tipped that father of THAT child that I be looking for them , as tonight he never pitched....
Should at least come and apologize, I mean crap happens, kids will be kids and they can do naughty things.
Don't think it was the child's intention to hurt anyone.

I have a similar story, but the owner of the premises did not behave as civilly as you have Moose.

At a wedding last year, on a flight of wooden stairs, stairs collapsed and I fell about 2.5m

Not even a phone call from the venue after I and 4 other guests were carted off to hospital in ambulances

Trying to sort the liability claim is a PITA and is still ongoing (broken ankle amongst other injuries)

I was about to say same. Very sad to hear what happened but it is absolutely impossible to watch kids all the time. It just takes a second for them to do something like this. I somehow reckon that when kid's father will come to hear about it, he will definitely apologize.

Here in the UK the store would probably be held responsible for not cleaning it up in time.

A similar incident almost occurred in a Tesco I was in. A customer spotted a child who knocked bottle of olive oil off a shelf. An old lady almost walked into the mess, but the customer stopped the old lady and within minutes a store employee was apologising profusely while cleaning it up. No sign of kid and parent/s

This is a insurance claim and therefore has to be left to them to decide what to do against the child which will be nothing.
But by having insurance you have contract to wavering of all your subrogation rights until the insurers agree you can proceed.
Keep the cctv and submit with your claim.
