Cutting costs at Telkom

What about "training the staff better so that they know what they are doing", and, "staff at call centres should be proficient in English".

Dear Mr Schindeshiit,

My name is Jack Orf and I have been working for tehlkom for 20 years and I have an idea for cutting costs. All you need to do is cut in half the salary and bonuses you and your friends at the top get.

Yours truly,
Jack Orf

Agreed. Even just doing a 10% cut on their bonuses will be more than the cuts they've implemented.

Dear Mr Schindeshiit,

I am Jack's brother, and I agree 100% with him.

Yours truly,
Farck Orf

How about send a memo to staff to come up with ideas to improve revenue? Like say uhmm reducing cost barriers to adsl market?

Dear Mr Schindeshiit,

I am Mr Farck Orf's cousin. How about looking at your Service desk? It could cut calls but as much as 90% if people are trained properly and get rid of their attitude.

Regards

Pisso Orf

1. Reduce Exco office sizes from 50 sqm to open plan, as in Vodacom
2. Sell S500 driving boss whilst also receiving car allowance
3. Cut the " highest Borad Fees on JSE" by half.
4. ....etc...

Carry on. You are alienating the little people from your organization by cutting on the little perks. What is it with top management that they can't grasp the concept human capital: where a little money (goodwill) can go a long way.

Cost cutting not for the boss

Cutting costs at Telkom

Internal communication from the Telkom CFO reveals some details about the company’s plans to curb costs

The Sunday papers carried an article written by the Telkom CE from Davos switzerland. Okay. You cut bottled water for the staff and then spend R400,000 on self trip to a snowy talks hop in Davos ?

Well the window dressing is now biting isn't it. BEE taking it's toll just like at Escum.
Fat cats in high positions but can't do the job but still earning fortunes.
