Is there perhaps anyone that can recommend a technician or a place that will be happy just to replace 1 inner CV boot.

The places i have contacted so far want to replace all the joints and ask me 5000 rand for the whole job.

Al my cv joints are fine.

I just need 1 boot replaced

It will also depend on the car you drive. They see you drive a Tazz, R500, they see you coming with your BMW, there's your R5k.

The inner CV is the easiest to work , it can easily be removed, that is why when the boot on the outer fails it is better and easier to remove the inner and slot the boot from that side. Unlike the outer, on the inner the circlip is visible, you just remove and the hammer the rest out.

If you don't find anyone and you are that broke maybe watch a couple of videos on Youtube and do it yourself. Did you get the split boot, if Yes, here is another idea, clean the currently installed boot up nicely, hopefully you have not lost too much grease, take the split boot and fit it on top of the existing one, i just don't trust if the glue will work in the presence of so much grease. Since the inner does not twist and turn you won't have any issues. In the meanwhile save up some money to replace all the boots, the others are probably on their way too.

This is a DIY job, but I would personally pull the driveshaft and work on it on the bench and replace the boots like that.
