still nothing from Vodacom for 1020, they are the only carrier in SA that hasn't released Cyan for 1020... and someone said they (Vodacom) were normally first?? Come on Vodacom!

They are normally first, they must've picked something up while testing to delay the update.

yip but still Cell C and MTN had Cyan available for 1020 more than a week ago, hate having to wait for Carriers!! GRrrr, thats the one thing I miss, on Android I didn't have to wait, could just install anything as soon as it was available through XDA or wherever, this waiting for Vodacom (taking their time) is frustrating....

Out of interest, why would the OS differ based on the colour of the phone?

The default settings/themes can differ per colour eg. a black Lumia will have the blue tile theme as default, whereas the yellow one will have the yellow tile theme as default. There may be other reasons as well.

Just install country variant CV using Nokia care suite and then update via DP, worked like a charm for the 1020

Been running 8.1 on my 920 on vodacom for a day now. OS update is great and loving the enhancements, does close a bit of the functionality gap between windows phone and android/ios. (notification center etc). Though thanks to that battery sense/saver app I see whatsapp has been killing my battery since the update. To the point it drains faster than it can charge via my pc's usb cable..

recommend a hard reset Doc Horrible - fixed my issues with 8.1 update. Just do a proper backup ( and whatsapp messages can be emailed but not backed up)
