Good Morning

I got your contact details from the Admins at MYBB, they suggested I contact you as your support staff are ill-equipped to handle the most basic of queries.

I emailed the support desk and cc’d Zaid the evening of the 10th, I only got a response on the 15th so someone really needs to work on that speed issues, 24 hours is already pathetic, a response should be sent out within 6 hours during business at least, let alone 5 days, and then to top it off my question was not even answered.

I queried as to why the difference between AWStats reporting and CPanels reporting of my bandwidth usage differed by almost 100%, last check was Friday at AWStats ~4.3GB, same day CPanel reported ~8.4GB, the response I got from Zaid was a copy of the CPanel usage graph that and idiot could of looked at himself, my query was not as to what my usage was, but as to why the difference, I then replied asking why the difference and he responded saying the over 4GB difference was due to emails, the CPanel account for cyburbia.co.za was opened on the 7th of this month so in less than a week I was expected to believe I have received over 4GB in emails in 1 week, honestly I would find it hard to believe that I received that many emails in the past year.

Then just to top matters off, Friday evening the account was deleted, without my request or consent and at that time I had not 100% completed the file transfer to the new host, I had only copied the essential files.

I highly suggest you do something with your support staff, maybe irresponsibly loud music or firecrackers on their seats or something so that they could work at work and sleep at home like it’s supposed to be. You can also forget about me making any payment for this account, you legally require my consent to remove my files from your server as they are legally mine until I approve the removal or your T&C which I still can’t find indicate that you can whatever the hek you feel like with other people’s property.

I am sorry but the only company I have experienced worse service with was virgin Mobile, and at least they are willing to pay the few hundred rand per annum to be properly listed on Hellopeter so that people can actually get possibility of getting some decent support from their company.

I just feel we need to warn any potential clients that once your with cybersmart, support is a luxury not an included service and to expect a response from them would be like to expecting it rain Jelly Tots and Smarties.

have you given cybersmart or the manager a call?

Before sending that email, yes, I refuse to speak to small fish, if I all a help desk I won't speak to any bellow management level. That way when the stuff up agaiN I can blame some with power instead of some minimum wage moron following screen prompts.

I this specific case I tried 3 times in the week before sending that email and each time I got a different excuse as to y I could not speak to 1 and the refused to let me hold the line until 1 was available. First excuse they were on another call then they were not in the office and the last time they were in the bathroom. Makes me wonder if they even have a management team.

What are you, a wannabe journalist?

:p

Hell no, do they even make money, especially in this country...

I was just always good with creative writing, the story part of the exam was the only reason i passed English, was too lazy to care about anything they wanted me to actually learn.

cPanel is a third part software - so it's not made by any of the hosts that use it.

From our experience, we have also seen a difference in the various bandwidth reporting options in cpanel: awstats is often different to cpanel reports.

Our only guess would be that some may not take certain traffic into account such as, SMTP/ POP3 / FTP / IMAP data etc.

It's also possible that one is only traffic in one direction - out form the server.

And the other is doing in and out....

I hope this clears things up, because if your new host is using cpanel as well - you will see this difference there as well.

I have worked with CPanel for over 7 years, i do understand and expect a difference, but for the difference to be more than double is almost impossible. The difference is in my experience normally between 5% and 15%.

Like with my current host, exact same site, exact same traffic statistics CPanel is reporting 5402.37MB AWStats is reporting 5283.84MB the difference is about 2%

As apposed to CS in CPanel of ~8.4Gb and AWStats of 4.3GB and with both hosts i am counting AWStats Viewed and Non-Viewed traffic together.

Could also be that awstats had not updated recently (or for a few days)?

This can be caused by high server loads.

Anyways, it seems that you have a new host - hope it all goes well with your website now :) It's seems the stats is performing better!
