Yes there price is cheap but there helpdesk support sucks big time. I had a problem a while back (not going to say what it is) but it took them 1 whole month to sort it out.

Another thing is I cancelled my account about 2 months ago(sent the confirmation through and everything) and they did not get back to me to say that it has being cancelled. So I contacted my bank and ask them to stop the debit order from going through which they did ofcause.

Ok so today 2 months has passed and I get a call from a lawyer saying I owe them money and I have 7 days to pay it.

Now why did they go to the lawyer without a single phone call to me, asking me to pay them? Which I would of did a long time ago.

Just want to say STAY CLEAR FROM CYBERK@K.

I'm also with them. Also wondered what would happen should I choose to stop my subscription. Looks like its not going to be fun. How much did the lawyer say you owe?

Hmm... I've been a Cybersmart client for over three years and have never had a problem.

When I joined them, the router I bought at Hi-fi Corruption did not work. Laurie, the guy in charge of Cybersmart, then lent me a router to go try out at home - free of charge.

I called the Cybersmart help desk a couple of times, and always got sorted out quickly. By a cute Russian, haha.

One rain don't make no river...

Something like R550.

It's a little yes but where did that amount come from if I didn't pay for 1 month? and on top of that I cancelled it. I just find it funny but I would have to pay it.

The main point Im making is All THEY HAD TO DO WAS CALL me and I would of paid it right away...

Agreed, its great to find a company where the owner goes out of his way to help you.

I'm pretty happy with them too... Laurie is very accommodating and contactable which is the exception rather than the norm..

They never got my fax either (few months back) so I'm still a user.

When Cybersmart introduced Capextender, Laurie posted on myBB that he would let people try it out for free. I contacted him, he set me up within a day and I signed up a few days later. He went out of his way to help me with further requests after that and really impressed me.

I'm not saying that one should stick with them if you're not happy, but at least I know they're not trying to shaft us.

Do you HAVE to fax a cancellation letter through? Aren't e-mails now acceptable means of communication?

I have not heard of a company called that before.

I LOL'ed :D

When I saw the thread title I knew it was Cybersmart, I even have a few potty names for them as well, however, I have always received relatively good service from them, and they put me on a SAIX exclusive account that connects to the SAIX backbone directly, instead of going through their VPN, and I'm really happy I made the move. Costs me R40 more a month, but I'll gladly pay that as its still cheaper than other ISPs 3GB offerings.

Been with them for almost 3 years myself, and don't feel like moving to another ISP, this new account sorted things for me and they are in my good books again.. for now ;)

They told me they wanted a signed fax, not email so I sent them one but I dunno what they did with it.

Iow you have faster intrawebs than the rest of us losers? :(

I just think they a joke of a company. Someone very close to me had a problem where there router would not accept the cybersmart username and password. And that dumbasses told us it was the router (now me being in IT System Engineer) knew it was not because I put my Webafrica and Telkom username in the router and it worked just perfect.

So after calling them everyday for month we would try to figuer out the problem to no avail. all they said was "it is your side" I would just put down the phone and try again the next day LOL.

Finally someone there helped me out and I demanded to know what the problem was, which ofcause he did not tell me.

I don't know what qualifications these people have.........:(
