I have been on Cybersmart Lightspeed 500meg line for the last 6 years as they are the only fibre infrastructure installed in my building.

Now I see that Afrihost are offering fibre on the lightspeed network at quite an attractive price of R799 per month (which is less than what I pay for my current 500meg package.

Cybersmart price for 1000/1000 is R1269 per month

So far I have been pretty happy with cybersmart light speed and have not had many issues, besides the odd major outage.

I wanted to see if anyone else on the lightspeed network has moved to Afrihost and what the service has been like?

I would like to think it would be the same and I won't notice the difference but I know all IPS's operate different and maybe this price that Afrihost is offering is just too good to be true.

I don't want to go through the effort of moving and then end up getting an inferior service and experience to what I am used to.

If the service is the same then it will great to double my speed and save money.

I would appreciate any feedback and help with this please.

Thanks!

We're also an option, *waves*.

Just as feedback the retail pricing versus the line fee is very attractive, this is usually down to the fact that Cybersmart was historically a closed access network. So ISPs like ourselves will be aggressive with pricing. IE it is a good deal.

Bit of a bump, but I was wondering if you guys have dualstack/IPv6 support and if I can use my own router instead of one supplied by Cool Ideas? This is on Cybersmart/Lightspeed.

I will confirm on the v6 side but yes you can use whatever router you like.
