Personally I've never used them so I can't say first hand but I've been assured by a number of folks that that makes me fortunate.
About a year or so ago a friend of mine had a huge hassle with them in just trying to get them to release his line back to Telkom. Overall he says the worst experience he's ever had with any ISP. And trying to cancel with them was apparently akin to pulling teeth.
my adsl lines have been with Cybersmart since 2005. moved them back to Telkom and had endless problems so moved them back there and wont move them again. they fixed several phone line issues over the years.
don't use their data however. got several friends and clients that's been with them for years without any problems.
only company I kno where I can call the CEO directly.
Have had a love hate relationship with them for the last 8 years. More good times than bad but lately pretty average.
My line rentals are still through cybersmart and I have a good relationship with Laurie.. Not too many CEO's give their customers the time of day so for that I am grateful.
I was with them for a few years. The minute Uncapped was introduced their service fell to $h!t. Battled for months until eventually cancelling, but they put up quite a fight to keep me on, even giving me a Business Uncapped account for the same price as the home standard. That was all good and well, but it was a temporary solution and their service just went from bad to worse. Can't comment on how they are now but I'll personally never use them again.
They seem ok right now. I rage quit afrihost and went to them last month.
I'm on the capped 20 gig account with the super size option, so I get 70 gigs plus an extra tb for use between midnight and 7 am. So far its been ok. They seemed to have some trouble earlier in the month, but they sorted it out. Customer service is not great. Not bad I suppose, but not great either.
Haven't used their ADSL in a long time, but I host a website with them and lately their support has been very good. They replied to my email within a few minutes this past Sunday night. I think their ADSL support is a different entity to their hosting, but hosting support has improved quite a lot recently.
All I know is I get quite good value for money for my basic hosting needs.
I'm on Crystal Web and they use the Cybersmart backbone for their ADSL, it has been okay. Some hicups with them getting up and running, but it's all good now.
