Cybersmart Unshaped?

Had a conversation with a guy at cybersmart this morning and the guy mentioned that all cybersmart bandwidth are unshaped??!

They quoted me R780 for 15GB (4Mb line) which works out to be R52/GB and seemed like a reasonable offer for unshaped BW. Currently I'm getting ~350ms to 400ms+ to the UK which seems rather high for unshaped... (Cape Town region) Did anyone else had such a experience? My router are connecting at 4Mb downstream with 512Kb upstream.

Unshaped yes, that price would include line rental yes (R358) so R28-13 per gig..

Thanks for confirming guys. Can I expected lower latencies from a different ISP even though they may also be using the SAIX backbone? Or is it all the same?

What? I get 200ms to the UK with 4mb adsl and a G-Connect account. :erm:

Your bandwidth is only unshaped if you have a "oneprice account" ie we are charging your for the line and cap. If you line is elsewhere, your account may be shaped. Email me you username to [email protected] and I will look for you.
