Cycling

I tried my hand at bleeding my brakes over the weekend and I've definitely improved the feel. Lots of black gunk came out of the calipers and hoses. Yuck.

I also swapped left and right so that front brakes are now on the right side, and rear brakes on the left. Having it the other way around was confusing my biker background muscle memory.

I have thought about doing this on my mountain bike, grew up with front on the right, the road bike I use is set up this way.

I highly recommend it. I've had much fewer incidents of nearly going over the bars since changing them around.

Ali express service kit FTW.

Easy win for Tadej. :)

Remco silver, Ben Healy bronze.

Strava has filed a lawsuit against Garmin over two key features, Segments and heatmaps, and demanded that Garmin stops selling many of its devices.

The lawsuit was filed on 30 September in the US District Court for the District of Colorado and Strava claims Garmin is infringing patents, as first reported by DC Rainmaker.

From what I have seen it sounds like Strava are being complete idiots about this. And yes, they own patents related to both 'technologies', the defense of the patents is going to be tough though.

Cancelled my Strava sub a few months ago. I use https://intervals.icu/ for all training and data analytics. Much better than Stava and free

Will check it out. I use the open version of Strava and Ride GPS. In our group we each take a turn to decide the route so for mapping new routes I use Mapmyride on my laptop then download to my Garmin device.

Anybody did the RideJhb the past weekend? How did it go?
Personally, I missed some unspoken goals due a puncture. Had a very good race otherwise :)

I started and finished which was my goal based on the 6 or so weeks of training I did  My main goal was to just get back on the bike, or trainer, or both.

If you are going to be watching a lot of cycling, it's probably worth it to get a Flo Bikes sub. Will need a VPN to Canada. Currently if you pay for a year upfront works out at around R200.00 per month. To get you in the mood for Strade.file_000000003e0871f68a94ec99d0f05dcf.pngMVIMG_20260306_103011.jpg

And Jonas won the mini TDF aka Paris-Nice.

He only won because Tadej wasn't there lol.
