Cycling

South Africa's Miles Liebenberg won gold in the Time Trial at the Youth Commonwealth Games currently being held in Trinadad and Tobago. 15Km in 19:17, average speed of 46.67km/h.

I watched a bit of the track cycling last night and saw Robert Förstemann for the first time. I know sprinters are often bigger but my goodness this guy looks like a bodybuilder.

Quadzilla. Missed him yesterday but saw him a few times before. Like at the Olympics I think.

RIP Eagle of Toledo. Federico Bahamontes, first Spanish winner of the Tour de France.

Fun fact he also won the KOM at the Tour 6 times. He won 9 KOM titles across the three Grand Tours. Hence the Eagle moniker.

I see Candace Lill took silver in the World's XCM race. Nice.

First medal at World's since Burry?

You okes should listen to this:

Even non-cyclists should listen to Greg recounting the shooting episode.

I didn't know one of the World's road race (and season) stand-outs was born in JHB. Kevin Vermaerke.

I'm even more confused. De Bod on the start list for the TT. He would have been a better choice than all the others for them road races as well. CSA is weird.

Ryan Gibbons didn't do a bad TT at all. He won't get a medal though

Remco swapping his road rainbow jersey for a TT one lol

I'm glad I watched the TT. I had Remco Wout and Tarling for the podium though. Wout looks toasted after all this.
