Cycling

Don't think I've ever seen Geoffrey Soupe on a podium anywhere. Always easy to spot in the peloton but I've never seen him anywhere else lol. Well done to him. The beard with the man.

Lots of crashes in the final kms. Arensman did not look good lying there. Taken away in an ambulance but at least he was awake and moving.

Who's that?
Lanterne Rouge Cycling Podcast.
Banji Naesen/Patrick Broe. One of the best. Other guys like Johan Bruyneel, Daniel Friebe all quote them on their shows.

A week before the vuelta they did an hour and a half in person pod with Remco. Well worth a listen. I see I posted it here post #363

Ah ok, I don't do podcasts :p

I see it now on the previous page.

The disaster for Ineos continues.
Yup, missed the dark TT but heard they had a crash there with De Plus suffering a broken hip. Eina.

And now Thomas and Arensman. Latest update on Arensman is that he wasn't injured too seriously but he's still under observation. Just some stitches so far although I'm sure he's fractured something at least lol.

Supersport showing and prioritizing Tour of Britain over Vuelta. Idiotas

I found this quite interesting.

The difference between cycling in the Netherlands vs cycling in the Free State. I am following a work acquaintance that lives in Enschede. Yesterday he cycled a 120km morning ride, and below is his elevation profile. His highest climb was a 40m elevation gain climb over a distance of about 3km..

Yesterday morning I did a ride almost half the distance he has cycled, my ride was about 62km. My highest climb was an elevation gain of 94m over a distance of 5km.

His total elevation gain over 120km was 298m and mine over a distance of 62.2km was 384m. His average speed was 30km/h and mine was 27km/h. Just to add to that, he was at almost sea level with the highest altitude at ±60m above sea level and I did my ride at ±1450m above sea level, which is a considerable difference. My average speed probably is not too bad for someone that turned 60 in February this year.

1, 2 and 3 for Jumbo on the Tourmalet. Vingegaard, Kuss and Roglic.

I haven't watched much of La Vuelta so far this year but, my gosh, this Hannah woman is crazy irritating

Oddly enough a few days ago on Twitter I said Remco would do like Pog on de la loze. I should have played the lottery. I saw the future.

Oh no, just heard the news on the Vuelta

Edit: media says he's in life threatening condition but Jumbo says that's bs
