So I don’t think he expects Zuma to step down before elections. It appears that he believes Zuma will step down by himself.. but that he will demand certain decisions are taken in accordance with what the party wants.

That’s all nice but we all know how Zuma has played this game.. granted he is between a rock and a hard place with fracturing his party. That being said.. he is forcing Zuma to do what’s recommended judicially.. which will have Zuma impeached or begging for a Presidential pardon. The latter worries me as Zuma needs to be made an example of which is not a ‘dignified’ exit.

I dunno if you guys have kept track of the impeachment changes to parliament but it seems that they pushing for 1 party, 1 vote + judges/specialists. Ie so Zuma’s days are definitely numbered and while Ramaphosa appears to be too weak to kick him out.. it appears that parliament will impeach.

I am with you...just because a few want swift retribution, it does not work for the benefit of the ruling party...end of the day, that is all what it is about...how it will benefit the ruling party, how they go about the exit of JZ. He has been politically neutralised, and is being micro managed...no wonder has so much free time these days to go talk crap in Nkandla and is far removed from the actually business of state. He is lame ducked, taking instructions...for one the markets understand its a process, but his ability to cause damage is neutralised.

Gaddafi and Saddam were not held accountable for their actions, they were simply killed, an action initiated by an unaccountable government which is a point you seem to ignore

and if you add up the deaths Churchill, Blair and Bush are responsible for, it dwarfs what Gadaffi and Saddam did

erm ... fair enough Gaddafi got lynched more than anything else, but Saddam was sentenced to death by the legitimate government of Iraq at the time.

Not that I have any hope whatsoever of our homegrown POS facing justice, nor would I dare say there are many examples of dictators facing justice in the past, but it does in fact happen occasionally.

Saddam received no trial, he was simply executed

you may find a few instances where dictators (appointed by you know who) were held "accountable" but you will be hard pressed to find a democratically elected president that was sent to prison, and even then it will not be consistent with what normally happens
