Cyril at Davos CNN Amanpour interview

If being a puppet makes a government illegitimate we have a much bigger problem than Iraq. The EU, UK, Japan and certainly the Ukraine would cease to be legit ...

oh you are starting to wake up

well done...

Gaddafi and Saddam were not held accountable for their actions, they were simply killed, an action initiated by an unaccountable government which is a point you seem to ignore

and if you add up the deaths Churchill, Blair and Bush are responsible for, it dwarfs what Gadaffi and Saddam did

old Silvio makes Zuma look like he is Zille governing the Western Cape

are you going to ignore the fact Nixon received a state funeral?

Blair and Bush should face prosecution.

Without Churchill (and Smuts) the whole world would be speaking German and non white races would be slaves of the Reich.

oh you are starting to wake up
:crylaugh: you must be confusing me with someone else, I've been anti-EU / establishment / US-war mongering for a very long time ...

To my shame I must admit back in 2003 I didn't fall for the WMD BS, but I still reckoned the war was "just". The aftermath is what taught me to never be duped again.

Back on topic: I am supremely skeptical of this "new ANC" and I would bet money against Zuma ever facing real justice. I'd dearly love to be proven wrong though.

so the Russians had no role in preventing that scenario?

and Churchill should still be held accountable for the millions of deaths he is responsible for

presidents in democratically elected governments do not face real justice because modern democracy is designed to make politicians unaccountable to the electorate

I repeat, Nixon received a state funeral

Critics viewed the trial as a sham that did not meet international standards on the right to a fair trial. Amnesty International stated that the trial was "unfair," and Human Rights Watch judged that Saddam's execution "follows a flawed trial and marks a significant step away from the rule of law in Iraq."

if you want to be pedantic about it and call an unfair trial a trial.

There will be no charges and no trial for Zuma.

Most likely scenario is a negotiated exit and immunity from prosecution.

Why would Serial want to risk civil unrest inter alia amongst Zulu people and further instability in the country?

Letting him go without consequences is of course not justice, but it is the best under the circumstances.

How do you make immunity happen?

Legally speaking, it’s completely illegal, so said immunity could only be a verbal gentlemen’s agreement that could be reverted at any point by CR or any future president or any head of the NPA.

if you want to subscribe to double speak that's your problem, not mine

A rotten apple is still an apple.

A broken car is still a car.

A dead body is still a body.

A bad/sham trial is still a trial.

Hard to grasp?

a bad/sham trial is not a trial, especially when it deviates from the rule of law, the prefix that is often ignored when using the word trial is "fair" in the same way 1 is ignored when dealing with a variable X

but live in 1984, I get the impression that's where you belong

/logic failure

Where did I say it is a valid or rightful trial? I said that regardless of the quality/validity/impartiality of the trial, it still remains a trial, a bad one for sure (the same way that the Moscow trials are trials). The art of putting words in my mouth...

I’m sorry but history is on my side on this one, even HRW and Amnesty who are the ones calling it a sham call it a trial.

I don't see how a trial can be a trial if it deviates from the rule of law it is governed by

I guess you argue with atheists about their belief in god when they exclaim "oh my god"

edit: what about cows? are they tables because they have four legs?
