Apologies, I hope this is the right forum to post.

I have recently buoght a Wireless N300 ADSL2+ 3G USB router from a local vendor.

The problem is when running the installation CD and setting up the PPOE settings everything is fine.
When powered down and internet needs to be accessed again lets say the next morning browsing is not possible.

The only thing that seems to work is if I run the CD again and setup via the wizard. Then the internet works yet again - upon a reboot or power down all is lost. It seems like the settings are not retained yet the configuration is still there.

Do you have any suggestions perhaps that can assist me in regards?

I cant find any firmware for South-Africa, only India ... was kinda hoping that would resolve it.

I am using the refference drivers that came with it but will attempt to obtain the latest in the meantime.

Thanks!

Why bother with the CD when you can set it up with the web page...
I've NEVER EVER configured a router with software provided on a CD!

Just set it up by using the web interface of the router and then when you save the settings it would remain there even if you reboot.

You can find the latest firmware for all the D-Link ADSL devices on the Russian D-Link FTP server: http://ftp.dlink.ru/pub/ADSL/
Please just make sure that you are downloading and flashing the correct hardware version, which matches your router's hardware version (eg. NRU C). I would advise you to only update the firmware if the settings on the web interface was not kept after a reboot.

I also prefer the web page however nothing works when I set it up this way (it only works via the CD wizard to my disgust) There is no mention in the diagnostic logs and the problem seems sporadic as it now again works. No authentication issues either. Thanks for the FTP link I'll surely check it out. Settings are present on the web interface however its as if its not applied so to speak. Have done a factory reset but it didnt work either.

Rather use the SA FTP site ftp://ftp.d-link.co.za/
The router models correspond with the South African models

Excellent. Thanks, will check it out.

I've been trying to setup my 3G modem to work work with my router, as it keeps saying dialling and never connects.

Hi there... Ca somone provide a workibg link to the latest firmware I va use, and will it solve my intermittent connectivity issues? Telkom says according to their system my router is disconnecting all the time...
