D-link issue (I think)

Thanks everyone for their help! It seems that I had to activate my line... However, the bridging thing was still neccesary, as I can still not connect using normal settings. Everytingg is working fine now though.

I have the same router that i bought recently to replace the telkom router but i'm starting to regret it, the connection justs drops often, my pc can't connect to internet but the router shows it has a connection to the internet.

Howdy Vault_Dweller

I may be barking up the wrong tree here but as a reseller of the D-Link 2640's I know of a batch fault with them of late. I too suffered the same problem with many of my customers moaning about no connectivity even though all the lights where on etc etc and they even had the gateways from their respective ISP's listed on the device info page.

I discussed it with the supplier only to be told that the cause of these problems was a faulty AC adapter. Once I got the dodgy ones replaced everyone was up and running in no time at all. The unit ships with a 700mA AC adapter and it needs to be replaced with a new one. Good luck.

Setting a static IP on my PC's and DNS servers(google) sorted out my issue looks like it.
