D3 Demon Hunters Conclave

I'll wait for the patch to officially hit. Something new to experience when it does and downloading the PTR isn't an option with my slow internet.

Woo interesting. I prefer shooting mobs over just letting the sentries do the work, although if they've gone up that much dps wise it'll get nerfed before release.

If dps is the same using only CA+EA instead of the previous CA+MS+EA (or MS instead of CA) then it means we get another slot to play with, which should give us a lot more options for dps/survivability.

I tried the PTR this morning.

I have high end M6 gear and a Kridershot.

On the live Euro realm : typical critical hits were averaging 20m, with highest around 32m or so.
On the PTR realm : typical critical hits with 2 turrets deployed were averaging 35m, and highest was over 100m.

That is insane, i will take it !

The damage is bound to get nerfed before it hits live so don't get too excited just yet.

I tried the PTR this morning also, but just go disconnected all the time. Latency was through the roof :(

Hopefully I can get a better look tonight.

And if I understand this correctly the dmg nerf is coming. Didn't take long.

Here's our latest anticipated changes, which will be coming to the next PTR patch:

2 Piece Bonus
Companion calls all companions to your side.
4 Piece Bonus
Sentries cast your Hatred spender when you do.
6 Piece Bonus
Your generators, Elemental Arrow, Chakram, Impale, Multishot, and Cluster Arrow deal 100% increased damage for every active Sentry.

Preliminary calculations show this to not be a nerf, but actually a damage buff once you have more than 2 sentries out. People are still arguing over it, and how the bonuses actually stack.

I played the PTR yesterday, and I must admit, it is soooo much better than the way M6 is functioning in 2.1.1. I managed to clear a GR40 with a fire build (previous best on live was GR38). I tried a cold build with a (poorly rolled) Kridershot on 41 and failed miserably. I crafted an Ancient Arcane Bard that did over 3000 dps with 9% Damage and without any IAS on it. My CA-LfB crits were 300-400 million. If I have 5 sentries out and a champion pack is hovering around it, they die in seconds on GR44.

At first I played with the Spines of Seething Hatred quiver, and Chakram as my generator. Chakram crits were around 60-90mil each. Unfortunately they clutter up the screen so much I don't notice standing in bad stuff, and then die. I still think Rucksack to be the quiver of choice, due to the massive DPS bonus of having two more sentries out, but the Chakrams really do mow down packs of mobs in a screen in a few seconds.

You can still pop your sentries and hide around the corner, if your generator is normally a hatred spender (use a Kridershot or Spines). They'll fire at anything within their LoS, even though you are shooting at the walls. This won't be optimal, but could be used at times.

I died a LOT! Which is why I failed the GR44. The limiting factor was not my DPS. The first time you die, you can res instantly at your corpse. Each time after that, adds 5 seconds to the respawn timer, up to a cap of 30sec. You cannot circumvent the timer by ressing at the last check point either. All options are greyed out until the timer runs out.

Jailer, Frozen and Thunderstorm are still a problem, but the rift density issues have been sorted out.

Overall, I am very happy with they way it is at the moment (even though it is still changing, and will still change a lot). After playing on the PTR, I am not psyched to play with my boring DH on live.

Nice. Haha, I hope you guys didn't trash all your Cindercoats, Frostburns etc.

I like the M6 change. I wasnt a fan of placing sentries and running around like a little girl. Now you can shoot the monsters yourself and actually kill them, if u have some sentries up

That's the thing. It will all depend on if the sentries will also get the 100% buff based on the amount of sentries or if it will only apply to your damage. Hope it's the former and not the latter.

Edit:
Ah, seems it's definitely a nerf.
Does this mean that only our shots are buffed by 100% for every sentry, or also the shots of these sentries?

Good question! This set bonus applies only to your shots, not the shots fired by Sentries.

@animal531

I need another chest for xmas.
Not enough storage space and Santa must not forget my bow or Xbow request.

Lol don't throw away good items. You might never get one again...

I don't think we need the Frostburn stun (and that thing is even rarer than TaT anyway). At least Cindercoats, Magefists and so on have quite a bit higher droprate.
Not sure I ever got a nice Chakram quiver; but at least I can keep going with my Bombardier.

Anyone ever noticed when you hit one of the number keys it triggers twice?
When I hit my sentry button in 2.1.1, It drops a sentry and then says "gotta wait"...
In 2.1.2, it drops 2 sentries.

Odd.
