D3 Demon Hunters Conclave

Managed a level 41 rift with 6 min to spare on my PS4 char. Pretty impressive since that's without a SoJ or Unity and only 2 gems. Really need to find a cold SoJ, a socket-able amulet and a better rucksack before I can go any higher.

Wow, well done. You should be able to easily do a 43, and with some luck, a 44! Did you get loads of ze zombies?

I managed to do a GR43, because my second level was loaded with them and skeletons. It is then easy to pop an area full of sentries, and then pulling the slow morons to that zone from all around. The only problem I had was with the skeletal archers. Can't always see their stupid arrows. Took me ages to kill the guardian with his 64 billion life and all.

One level had zombies, then act 5 mobs.

I have some more level 41 keys, so might just push it for fun. At least my gems are level 40 now, so wouldn't loose out on higher level upgrades now.

I think the real boost was having largely open levels. Those close passages of the caves and fort are murder in rifts.

Hi All

Did make my one DH a fire build. Had a cindercoat from my non season char.
Lost a lot of damages in this build.
Then i used cindercoat and PF helm, lost my Mara 6 set bonus. Stashed my PF helm.
Now i need to play a bit more with this char. See what he is made of.

I'll take any level/enemy layout, as long as I don't get Saxtris at the end. I really hate that guy.

Perendi is also pretty painful though :(

There are very instances during that fight that you are able to stand still and nuke

Perdition is my worst guardian... He gives little warning that he's about to jump and then boom, he's on your head. If my awareness is on cooldown, then I'm toast (even at full health).

Perdition, Sandshaper and Saxtris is a slap in the face to your hard work. Orlash is a stupidly annoying boss, and a waste of time.

Crusader King is also a pain due to teleport strike and Jailer attribute.

Stonesinger is the dream boss. He is kind enough to split into multiple copies for you to nuke down, roughly in a third of the time any other boss goes down.

I found Perendi to be fine (the mallet lord boss?) Pop down sentries in a circle formation, and run around in that circle, kiting him around whilst nuking. I was lucky in that I had an obstacle I could thrown my sentries around, which forced him to follow me without taking shortcuts. I got him on my one and only GR43, and it took nearly 3 minutes to pwn his ass.

He's fun to test your vault reaction skills :p His ranged attack is annoying because depending on distance, the projectiles themselves can have an extra second of flight time

Picked up an Ancient Krider :D

Now the question is,

- [-]do I roll for the higher Dex, [/-] - No - it's only 147 more potentially

- roll the socket for %Damage,

- roll the resource cost redux for Vit/Armor?

decision, decisions...

I'd roll the socket for damage. (assuming ramalama)

Agreed. If you have a Ramaladni's then Sinbad's suggestion... I would keep the resource cost as it is and reroll the main stat (Dex). An additional 150 dex (potentially) wouldn't go down too badly.

Oh yes. Screw, might I add, you! (To quote Frasier Crane!) :D

Hee hee, Sinbad had just joined me as I finished a GR - that's where I found it - my second one in a solo GR come to think of it.

I'll probably roll the socket for damage and then use ramadingding for a replacement socket.

Heh, as it is its given me a 16.7 percent damage boost over the previous bow.

I feel better, my elite dmg is still 500m more than yours

Wasn't even a question lol. Not rolling the socket would have been a super waste.

For a bow in 2.1.2 with CA build you would always want:
  • High bonus damage, no more than 100 away from the max value of +1940 on a 2h, or +1700 on a 1h.
  • It must have +10% damage.
  • It must have Dex, and if it had Vit instead you'll shard it. Even if it rolled minimum Dex, it's still fine.
  • 10% RCR is a hidden DPS boost. It makes a massive difference.

A weapon must never roll with a socket, because you'll add that with a gift. If it does come with a socket, then you'll have to hope the other three stats rolled very well so that you can roll the socket away for the last missing stat, or make peace that you won't be Gifting this weapon and that you'll reroll one of the other stats to make it slightly better, and in the meantime hope something better will drop. It will become an interim weapon at best.

So on a Kridershot, you hope the bonus damage rolled high and that it either came with +10% damage or 10% RCR so that you can roll the missing stat by rolling the socket away. You'll never have a Krider drop with +10% damage, Dex and 10% RCR and then allow you to Gift it and go reroll the damage range so that it's perfect.

Natalya's Slayer also always rolls with a socket.

@AfricanTech: I would have driven to your house and kicked you on the zip if you had taken the impatient route and rolled higher Dex on your Krider, I swear! It MUST come with Dex, but NEVER ROLL FOR DEX! Dex is an infinite resource, thanks to Paragon levels. Rather struggle a bit until you get a Gift.

Yeah, you'll always want to focus on the +damage stats. The dmg from 100-250 more dex would be much lower so not worth considering.

Have any of you guys found an Odyssey's End bow? I think it might be a S2 drop on PC, but got one on PS4. Entangling shot provides 20-25% increased damage from all sources. I think this bow will easily replace Calamity and would be great in a party.

Hee hee hee

:D

'twas more of a thought exercise - I've learnt some hard lessons playing this game and one of them is that one.

Socket re-rolling will be commencing as soon as I can get online :D
