D3: High Level Char Stats

That is his buffed damage, unbuffed its around 98k

Not sure what you mean there friend? Don't profile pages show unbuffed damage? Mine for example sits at 36k on the profile page, but it's ~47k when buffed. Anyway, I know 340k dps seems low compared to some of the DHs out there, but damn thats the most I've seen on a barb

Profile pages show your stats as you leave the game (thats the same time that your items will update). Go check out my profile and you'll see I have 6000 armour, because the buff from the enchantress is being applied. If I remember, when I logout tonight I'll quickly cast blinding flash (30% more damage for 3 sec), so my DPS will be in excess of 60k on my profile page tomorrow

Ah! I knew about the item updates, but I was unaware about the dps and stats. Cool stuff

I'm guessing by that point the game will be boring as hell ;p

See, I'm magically on 73k dps today even though I've go the same gear on.

You got some nice dps there. Might want to work on your armor and possibly your res too. Currently I can farm act 3 easily however I specced a little wrong, too much IAS and only 50% increased crit damage. Sold my first 100M item today so looking forward to throwing some gold at that specific issue :D Not sure what to get, any suggestions? http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Scorntorrent-2706/hero/716665

Why? Solo I kill act 3 mobs so fast I barely take any damage. Only very high HP mobs sometimes give me issues.

Bracers, rings and helm could get crit chance. Then you want weapons with crit damage and/or a socket. You're going to struggle with all the vit you will lose on your weapons so I would look to get some vit elsewhere (pants and chest can roll 300 max vit). Your shoulders have no vit, so thats a good place to get some as well. The way I try to do it is as follows
DPS slots - rings, amulet, gloves: look for crit chance, crit damage, ias, dex, single resist
Intermediate slotes - helm, bracers, boots: look for crit chance, dex (boots can roll 300), single resist, vit (and movespeed on boots)
Survival slots - chest, belt, pants, shoulder: vit, double resist, dex
Weapons - crit damage, socket, dex. Life on hit or lifesteal if you need it (lifesteal only becomes viable for a monk above 45k dps in my opinion)

Archer

crit dmg and crit chance. Are those included when a comparison is done between weapons? Lets say i have a 30DPS weapon with no crit at all. And lets say I have a 30DPS weapon with crit damage. Would the one with crit show overall more damage if you do a side by side comparison? Or is crit only calculated and brought in when the weapon hits a monster?

I always see people saying crit is so important, but when i pick up a weapon with crit and I dont see it increasing my damage over an existing weapon with no crit, whats the point?

Yes they are most definitely included in the comparison numbers.

What is your crit chance on? Of course the higher your crit chance the more effect the crit damage will have on your DPS. If you sitting on only 10% crit chance then dont expect to see huge DPS upgrades for weapons that give you more crit damage. Get your crit chance to 25%+ and then you will see how crit damage skyrockets your DPS. I dont see any other way to really get big DPS without going the crit chance/crit damage way. With a monk you'll also get a sort of "hidden" DPS upgrade as your crit chance goes up due to your Sweeping Wind cyclones.

The main hand I'm currently running with my monk doesnt even add any dex, but the DPS, crit damage, socket is there. I'm sure there are better weapons out there but I found mine and I've grown attached to them. :) Havent looked on the AH since 1.04 for a new weapon, there might actually be a cheapish upgrade for me.

Seeing as this is show off your monk day!

@rakabos - If I kept the exact same main hand, but lost the crit damage, I'd lose 6.5k dps. If I lost the crit damage on my off hand, thats another 10.5k dps out the window. And yes, when you do the comparisons in game, it does take the crit damage into account

Well then i dont see the fuss with crit to be honest. Amulets, armor etc with increased dex or int can do more than what crit can do depending on which character u play with.

Sure a weapon can come with extra crit damage, and finding them is great, but a weapon with +40dex instead of increased crit can be more powerfull for a barb for example

I'm guessing you meant +40 str, but bud it would need to be a lot more than that. I have weapons that are roughly within 10dps of each other, and I need to have a weapon with 180+str to outdo the 240% crit dmg on my weapon. There is some symbiosis between Crit dmg and Crit chance though. Up your crit chance (mine is currently at 34.5% unbuffed if I recall) and Crit dmg becomes really hard to beat.

You are only fooling yourself if you think crit damage is not the way to go for high dps
On my monk with 38% crit chance, 10 dex = 232.4 dps
10% crit damage = 855.1 dps

Or put another way, I'd need to find 1300 dex to keep the same DPS if I lost all my crit damage.

O ok. Well i just dont see it then i guess. When i put weapons side by side and the one with dex beats one with crit dmg, its obvious which one i would use. To blindly load up on crit if other items give better dps - thats what im confused about essentially
