D3: High Level Char Stats

I dont think you want to go below 45k dps buffed in Act 2 on a wizard. On my monk I was very happy at around 30-35.
But the tricky thing is all those semi invul mobs (invis snake, jumping grenade throwers, etc). Act 3 you dont have those mobs as regularly so its sort of easier actually

Yeah I also found that Act 3 the packs are easier for me than some in ActII due to the fact that in Act III there is less space for them to run from me and kite my attacks.

I am going to be trying the Wizard solo build when I play again to see how that works out for me, will try for 6k armour 600 RA and then 30%+ crit chance :p

Other wise I will just stick to co-op play and be the glass canon :D

If you farm act 3 multiplayer with a monk you will be fine with 25k dps as long as your resists are 1000+. And your HP is decent with LoH etc...

Yeah for sure you could, I just dont think it would be very efficient...maybe I'm wrong, but I can imagine it taking quite a bit of time to down a mob.

Personally, I never went for a defensive build, so my resist havent ever come close to 1000. But I didn't dream of going to act 3 with only 25k damage. I would rather stick to quick Act 2 runs as it will probably end up being more efficient use of time (and probably be less frustrating lol).

Mess around, time your runs and try keep track of the amount of elite mobs you kill. You know what the ilvl drops rates are between Act 2 and Act 3 so you can work out which act is the most efficient to farm.

As a side note, gone are the student D2 days where farming time was basically endless for me. When at most you have a couple hours to play a night you really start focusing on getting the most value out of your time.

I once had 25k dps and 1000 all res and if i played multiplayer in act 3 i was fine. Farming act 3 will always be more efficient as long as u dont keep dying. 20 rares picked up in act 2 vs 10 rares picked up in act 3?
And if u a monk u can choose that light skill which will take your dps to about 28k and if u run with a barb that uses that war cry skill your res will be 1500 on all:o

Yes but you are hardly efficient at that DPS
When I play in groups I will turn away people under 40k DPS for an A3 run. And if you are a wiz/DH its 50k+ otherwise its not worth the extra effort I have to go through as melee to have you in the game.

And act 3 is not always more efficient :wtf:
If I can kill 100 elites in act 2 in one hour I'm doing waaaaay better than if I was killing 30 elites in act 3 per hour

Sorry i dont agree... If i play the beginning of act 3 compared to the end of act 3... I always get more 63s in the end of act 3 then i do in the beginning of act 3. The beginning of act 3 throws me a lot of useless 58s 59s and 60s. Sometimes 55s and k@k. Ive played with monks that have about 20dps and we do fine.. I dont think anyone can play act 3 properly by gearing up on items found in act 2 only. Id rather find 10 rares in act 3 then 20 in act 2.

Ps: if diablo 3 had more players that would share their gear, time and effort to help others diablo 3 would be a better game... U kicking a guy out bec his monk doesnt have 40k dps isnt cool in my view... Ive had your profile on my phone app for a while and you wereny always where u are now but still u played in act 3... Just saying:what:

The entire Act 3 has exactly the same drop rate with regards to ilvl, so it doesnt matter if you dont agree, that is how it works. So now we do some simple math, act 2 gives a roughly 9% chance for ilvl 63 drops, whereas act 3 gives a 18% chance. Therefore, if you get twice as many drops in Act 2 per hour vs Act 3 it obvious to see that you'll be doing better by farming Act 2 because you'll get more ilvl 63's

I've given gear to at least 7 people (I have a full tab of gear waiting to be given away), helped many people clear acts/bosses, etc, so your point is what? Heck, I've probably carried at least two people through multiple A2 runs ( could do so without dying), so spare me the lecture. Its not fun for me when I die 5 times more often because someone else is not doing enough DPS for the health globe to drop in time. If I can carry someone and not die though, I'm all for it. Unfortunately I'll only be able to do that in A3 when I hit ±60k dps

As for where I have been playing, I only went into A3 after 1.04. Even then I waited until I hit ±38k dps iirc because before that A3 runs were taking 1h40 whereas A2 I was running under 45min. Then we tried again and at first we ran 1h10, which meant statistically we would be much better off in A3, so we made the switch

Ok ok u win :thumbup:lol
You have much more experience than i have...
I dont feel like arguing but i do feel that when i had 26dps i was farming better in act 3 then act 2. Act 2 was easier but i just couldnt get upgrades. I thank those people that let me farm act 3 with them when my dps was lower then what it should have been :o
Im very happy i can farm act 1 again though :o

Just concentrate one night and crunch the numbers.

Time your run vs the amount of elites killed. You know the item level drops for the different acts, so you can easily see which one is giving you the most 61, 62, 63's per hour.

Regardless of what it feels like, I would trust the numbers. But that's the kinda guy I am.

Edit: i got home thinking the patch was out the way everyone was going on all. Lol...

The numbers..... they are a lie :p:D

I have now got my Wiz up to 38k hitpoints and +- 550 AR... It did cut my DPS down to 57k from 62k but I think staying alive long enough to actually do some damage is important :p

I have a wizz. I might farm keys later today. bezarkaar#2569

I geared up my old Barb yesterday with 15 million gold.

32K hp
50k dps
500 res
1400 loh
6 ls
49% cc
386 % crit damage

I'm trying to play WW barb but I don't get the mechanics. Is anyone else playing barb able to help?

War cry, then bash until you have fury for battle rage, and one sprint. Sprint in circles trying to hit stuff so that you crit, big packs are the best. When only one elite is left you usually struggle, but then just switch to bash. Keep sprinting as much as possible. Wrath of berserker doesnt see any fury generated if you are already at max. So keep spending fury with sprint and/or WW. Switch to a mighty weapon on your main hand if you are having fury issues

I have an axe as mainhand. If I switch to mighty weap won't I lose 10% crit from the weapons master passive?

Do i just continually spam Sprint and Battlerage? How long does battle rage stay up?

Yes you'll lose the crit, but you'll get guaranteed fury from each hit. You have to see which one gets you more fury. And yes, spam as much sprint as your fury allows. Battle rage stays up for 2 or 3 min in the latest patch, so dont worry about that too much, but make sure it is up at all times. Also, movespeed helps a lot, helps you create more tornadoes per sprint

Warcry doesn't seem to give that big of a buff anymore. I've some guys use Overpower CA. Thoughts?

Which passives do you go with? I have weapons master, ruthless and nerves of steel.

I am toying with an overpower build, however it would most likely be better aimed at those who dual-wield. The other expected stat would be a high crit chance.... together, the attack speed and crit chance should aid in reducing the cooldown at a rapid pace. Depending on your build, you may also look at Frenzy as your primary attack, further increasing AS, thus the potential number of crits in a given timeframe.

Currently I use the Immortal King's Boulder breaker. As such, with the larger 'per hit' damage, Rend is a far better source of all round damage and lifesteal for me.

As for passives, I currently have Nerves of Steel, Tough as Nails and Ruthless. I will probably change one of these when the hotfix comes through and see whether it makes a large difference to my survivability.
