Can someone guide me through the steps needed to get GPRS working with a Vodacom Prepaid SIM and the Samsung D600.
I have had the Internet.GPRS settings sent to my phone, and have also tried entering them manually, yet I get the message, "Error: Network Unavailable", when trying to connect. I have succesfully connected with an MTN contract and the same phone.

Thank You.

This problem only happends when a customer buys a phone from 1 network and they try using another network..Every phone is loaded with settings of the network you buy it from and not wit its competitor settings.I get about 6 customers a day with this type of problem. It takes about 15-30 minutes flat to get everything works.

i have a similar problem. i tried to get internet/GPRS(i think) working on a motorola v550. it is marked vodafone live. I called Vodacom to send me the GPRS settings OTA which they did. But still no internet. I read on vodacom's site that vodafone live needs no setting though. it is a prepaid phone.

what type of technology is vodafone live? is it 3g of GPRS?

Any help will be aprreciated. thanks.

Vodafone Live (or VLive!) is a portal that makes content available for download. It is independent of the bearer (GPRS, EDGE, 3G or HSDPA) you use to access the content.

To be able to use the internet, your SIM must be provisioned for data access and your phone must be set up with the correct settings. You can check both of these by calling 155.
