DA tactics

DA spams what once every 5 years...? its really nothing, so dont get your panties in a knot.
I frankly didnt mind them, DA needs to get the word out, yes they may not be the best party but they will take the majority from the ANC which is key at this point.

Complain about spam from vodacom, or banks, or wateva stupid service you once applied to, not the DA's spam... its stupid..

I'll complain about spam no matter what the source is. I didn't give them my details ad I certainly didn't ask for their smses.

Spam is spam.

Never said they should be I am just asking what would you rather have....a bit of spam once in 5 years or Zim 2.0?

Fix the big problems then fix the smaller ones ;)

i'd rather have neither seeing as both are mutually exclusive

3) having people outside the only entreance to the voting station, asking people for their ID books, and complaining when I told them that as they aren't IEC reps I'm not required to show them my id book.

What's so bad about this? My brother had to turn around and go back to the car because he forgot it there. Rather be warned by someone that you need your ID before standing in the queue got hours.

EDIT: They didn't ask to actually see the ID book, just to make sure that you have it on you.

Okay i'm annoyed now.

Why did i get an sms from Helen Zille? It's discrimination i tell you! :(

I got an SMS from Terror, so I voted for him...

I was going to vote for him anyway though ;)

My mom got sms's from BotoxLips on election day, She got angry cause she didn't give her number to the DA.

how do you come to this conclusion?

DA = largest opposition + awareness campaign (spam) advertising = more votes = ANC less say = Corrupt idiots in gouvernment can be opposed with greater affect

Still making no sense?

Think about it.....

Me too! Never got a single one! I think the choice in recepients was more, err, targeted. :D

ah so receiving that sms on my phone that says vote da is going to sway me more than the far greater number of lamppost posters, billboards, car posters etc that the ANC had? Surely if what you are saying is true there should be no doubt about the ANC winning 2/3rds majority given how much more visible their campaign has been?

It is not nearly as direct as you make it out to be.

My opposition for one does certainly not mean I support the other.

Okay, try to think about it from the ANC's POV:

ANC = govt + awareness campaign (spam) advertising = more votes = > 2/3 majority = less opposition to ANC programmes in gvot = A Better Life for all.

I'm sure you'd be overjoyed to get the ANC's public service SMSes in five years' time.

Never said that but the ANC has also followed the Spam route you were just not contacted by them...

I was not contacted by any party but some of my friends were by both the DA and the ANC.

Lol, ps the ANC have spent 200mill on their election campaign ;)

Wonder what the DA spent.

Huh? Whould the better grammar not be "Me opposing one" :p

No but I am saying the people who do not know for whom their support should go might be swayed by this... Look bottom line is it will gain them more votes than losing them votes....

I really don't mind as I understand their need to reach out to voter bases --- I did have more than 25 calls to me though (not exaggerating) yesterday evening. But once every 5 years, I can deal with it.
