Cape Town - It took the father of a murdered teenager only five days to find the three men who killed his daughter.

Vusimuzi Silwanyana, 42, a trained soldier, told the Daily Voice that he had lost faith in the police’s ability to find the killers of his daughter.

Pretty Nontombi Jonginamba, 14, was hacked to death in her mother's home in Gugulethu last week.

When police seemed to make no headway in finding the killers, Silwanyana travelled from Durban and started his own investigation in Cape Town.

Silwanyana said there was a lot of talk in the community about the murder, and he asked residents for help.

He was then contacted by a woman who said she had information, which led to the arrest of one of the men.

The suspect was taken to police where revealed that the murder had been a robbery gone wrong, and that she was killed so she could not identify them.

Two more men were later arrested.

They are due to appear in court on Thursday.

Well done. Wow. I only wished he had killed them. They don't deserve to breathe and be released soon to harm others as they previously did.

Yes more men like this are needed in the world!

/sidenote: they hacked her up so she couldnt "identify them"
What exactly is the definition of hacking one up, I think it goes a bit beyond just ending ones life!

Sounds fishy!

Good thing there was no vigilante justice dealt out.

Sounds he like acquired a specific set of skills over the course his career.

/reference.

That father is a hero! Too bad that the Justice system will now fail him as well. :(

I think it's easier getting information from the community as a non law-enforcement agent. Look at Brad Nathanson in Durban, he's solved a lot of crimes, sure he has police experience but he's not part of the force, they really should re-introduce a reward for information system.

What's really sad is there was no mention of Pretty in any of the news sites before this story about her dad. Imagine if she was from a white suburb, News24/IOL would be doing backflips over each other.

Lol, +1 for killing the bastards... bit of a fail to hand over to saps.

I know it would've been wrong but this story would have been so much cooler if he'd gone Liam Neeson on these fcckers.

Sadly he just let the killers off by turning them in. There is no justice left in this country, the correct approach would have been to interrogate and dispose of the guy.
