Now I understand the WBC business model, huge markup on old cars to subsidize the middle and high end, I have never seen any decent old car on any of my visits, it's always the wrecks.

You will get much more money for a good car(new or old) at a proper dealership than at WBC. So its mostly the things the proper dealerships don't want. Thats the business model.
Yes you get people here and there that is just not bothered and want to get an easy deal and quick cash, that sell a good car to them, but the majority is lemons, newish and old.
 
Spoke to a salesman a few days ago and he confirmed the same. Auctions were opened up to wider public because normal peeps will overbid on the cheap wrecks looking to have a YouTube rebuild series. Most E90s are overpriced because a few YouTubers rebuilt them in SA.

Saw another channel diving on older Havals also for cheap SUVs

Generally their financed cars are very good in my experience, that's from R100k up, the price is just unbeatable compared to the other used car dealerships.

Well I recently was looking for a car 100-150k and scanned their website for days and also was at 2 branches. Mostly junk. Yes there were a few good platinum/Gold rated cars, but those prices was just as high as dealers or even higher.
The one's with the low prices are low for a reason. Any dealer can walk in there any time and buy those low price cars and make a profit. Why don't they? They only come to the auctions to get it way lower.
