Dance like no one is watching you:

1998.

At the Ascots, this was the song I was listening to when I got goofed for the first time (transkei red), and I could hear notes and sounds that I had never heard before even though I had listened to it a hundred times before. It was also the time I decided it was way cheaper to get goofed and stay at home than to go out to the clubs.

It was surreal.

Also around this time when times were tough and the cupboards were empty, we would just organise a bring your own braai and we would have left overs for a week.

1997. Judy Lee goble road banging my GF times, with my weird ass benoni cousin living with me and his syco gf.

I think bourbon street was a thing.

Matric, the year the dept of education experimented with a new plan of nothing counted the whole year, only the final exam, so I did fokkal the whole year.

This was when they were trying to get rid of all the white teachers and were ending all the aprentiships and training colleges at transnet and nursing schools etc because they want to reinvent the wheel because they believe that they are so clever and that everything is super easy to do.

Mandela was a sell out.

This reminds me of my dads Audi 500SE that I crashed into a church next to the engen at the top of mitchell park.

I was in the front page of the daily news the next day. Headline: Student protected by angels.

The way I landed in the pastors back court yard facing the wrong way on its side with mm to spare all around and couldn't have fitted there any other way, uninjured, he thought it was a miracle. The only damage to his terraced garden 10m below the road level was when they removed the car with the crane. If I didn't go through a huge bush (small tree) and wall (upside down as the damage was on the passenger side), I would have landed on his roof.

I was famous at school (DHS) on monday. I had moved back to dbn after passing std 9 at KES but they said the syllabus was too different and had to do 9 again. Boy were they right. dbn std 9 was like HG, I almost failed it when I passed jhb with flying colours.

Yes, I'm a huge Laura Branigan fan.

Lambert Rd Morningside before I moved to jhb.

Yes its a remix, but its the best remix ever. Moreno J is my hero.

The way he does it, it still sounds like the original.

This was my favourite track back in the day when we used a record player, it was the robot voice that hooked me.

For years I didn't even know it was 2 songs as they play as one on the LP, until I tried to download the mp3 with limewire (I think thats what it was called, back in the R7 callmore weekend times when you ripped anyones head off that picked up the phone).

1977. I was still in nappies, the first time I heard this, I knew this was my jam.

This is the start of doof doof music?
