It's an interesting dilemma - he's obviously a expert of note who has alot to offer, but I guarantee he couldn't have got to where he is without learning the way he did. They should really teach this kind of thing at varsity - security from a hacker's point of view. Let's face it... you won't get rid of hackers, but I don't see the harm in teaching this kind of thing... I've always thought that if the criminals in this country only applied their brilliant ideas in making honest money...
Just a few random thoughts
 
The Kevin Mitnick case was notable because of the degree of vindictiveness with which the feds handled his case. Although they do have a well-deserved reputation for being vindictive and underhanded.
 
... exemplified in dozens of tv programs and movies. Lying and entrapment - the very things they are after the criminals for?!! :confused:
