Is there anyone out there that purchased an original copy of this game that would like to try it online, SAIX launched a server for it, so if we got a group together I think it would be fun.

i really enjoyed it, also waiting for the sgs servers to pick up...

some peeps complained about bugs at release etc but my experience was good...need an above average system to really enjoy it i imo

How is this game... Been wanting to buy it for a while now :)

It is definitely one of my favourite games, I usually never finish a single player game but I couldn't stop playing from the second I bought it.

Unfortunately there is a 3gig steam download required to play the game.

I enjoyed the game too, was very cool. Didn't experience any serious bugs either.

Is that for multiplayer? I didn't need to download anything from Steam for the single player . In fact i didn't install the multiplayer component and never had to install steam at all. Never needed an internet connection at all.

Well, I installed both, and had to register the game on my steam account to play either multiplayer or single player.

The multiplayer was a small download, its was the single player that was 3gig.

Well dunno what version you had then, my DVD was a whopping 7GB [double layer] , not a chance i'd download 3GB of additional stuff either way. I know you need to register on steam for multiplayer, but for single player you don't need to be online at all....

Hmmm... would someone with an original mind reading the system requirements and see if an internet connection is mandatory? I have no connection at home and wouldn't be happy if I couldn't play the game I bought.

I had the original [sold it after i completed it], the requirements on the box said:

MULTIPLAYER: Broadband Internet connection with 64kbps upstream or faster. Installation of Steam software required for multiplay

i bought the game at BTGames , played through the single player campaign and never installed the multiplayer and played completely offline. You get the option in the beginning to install multiplayer or not, if you do tick that box it will install steam..and then you need the internet connection..

I however know you can buy the entire game via Steam [single+multiplayer] THEN it might be 3GB+ download [compressed i assume] ..but i see no reason why you need 3GB of downloads for the single player game if you bought the 7GB dvd with the game on it?

I purchsed the game from BT games as well, I installed the single and multiplayer versions of the game, there was a 50MB download required for multiplayer and a 3gig download required for single player.

the game took up 10gigs on my HD when the download was finished, perhaps the 3gig download adjusts a few issues, because I have heard people say that the game is quite buggy, which is something I didn't expreience after doing the download.
