Dark patch on my LCD

There is a small vertical patch which is darker than the rest of my screen. It almost looks like dirt but isn't. Any ideas as to what it is? The screen is a Samsung 32" LCD
 
Backlight issue. Not much you can do about it afaik, aside from paying for repairs.
 
I'll post some later, I don't think its dead pixels it's too wide spread.
 
I actually heard laying the LCD on it's face for a night works ?
 
I agree with the pressure-mark diagnosis.

When you say that resolution makes a difference, do you mean that at various resolutions, the "mark" moves around? Or is it always in the exact same spot?

No the mark stays in the same position, it's just only visible at higher resolutions.

What's a pressure mark?
 
Reminds me of the time my son said his monitor had funny marks on it... wiped them off a put a box of tissues next to the keyboard (he sneezes a lot :) )

Or surfs a lot of pron sites :p :D
