Data Activation - MTN

Hi

does anybody know how long it takes for a sim to have data settings activated? I was told normally 2 - 24 hours with MTN? is that correct? i just find it annoying that, you have to wait 2-24 after activation, and then another 2-24 hours to have the data bit activated.

in this day an age, all those things should be provisioned for already upon activation of the sim so that you are up and running as soon as your sim is working

any ideas guys

AFAIK its as soon as the SIM is active. Is it not working? If I recall correctly, it worked immediately for me on the last two SIM cards I bought from MTN (prepaid though)

Yeh doesn't look like it was working properly. Got another sim and it's fine now. I Got Bbm messages, but no other connections which were strange

They always quote that 2 - 24 hour period but I have always found it to happen far quicker. I have also found that you have to restart your device to activate it though.

Apparently they work on more than one system and the delay is the one system syncing with the other. I agree though, ridiculous in this day and age.
