Got a new Cell c contract, with airtime, data and sms. Data does work. Connection appears to be made, but no data throughput. Different cell c sim works in handset. Moving sim to another phone, same problem. Cell c shop suggested sim swop, which was done. Same issue. Any ideas on what to try next?

I was with Cell C and had the same problem. Never got resolved. I dumped them.

Its a pitty about your contract.

Any chance CellC rep can assist? Case number sd. 217026 regards.

Hi Logank,

We have escalated to our team to prioritize and assist.

Good luck. The network guys don't give a sh** about resolving network complaints. The tech support and social teams are great but the network engineers that helps with tower location or antenna or booster installations don't do nothing about queries....

I now know what you mean. Listened to the voice message that the support person left on the phone. "everything Ok" on system get store to change sim card. This after already doing 2 sim swops. 3 sims in one month, and still not working, and support says try another. Last sim cost R130 odd rand, cos it supposed to be "contract sim". Strange thing is that the cell C website works fine. Seems to me, to be some sort of firewalling or provisioning issue on Cellc back -end. If that was the escalated response, I am disappointed, and there are no walk in centre in Durban.

Dont waste your time with them. CellC are all liars. They will make you believe that they'll get it fixed, but trust they'll fix f**k all.

I had endless internet connectivity issues with them & they could do nothing to fix it.

I moved over to Vodacom & and got myself a Galaxy S4. & i couldnt be happier. I realised CellC is not a network for Smartphones.

I still have the CellC sim & use it for the free minutes.
I guess the free minutes is all that works on CellC.
Whenever i try the Cell C internet, nothing works.
I assumed CellC would have at least got their act together by now. But no surprises there, they still are a Sh**ty Cra**y network.

I think the 900MHz they use for their network is a mistake. Better signal penetration but then less towers and slow speeds.

I just noticed the last month Cell C put up a new tower right next to a Church here in Richards Bay that already has really goold 3G coverage. I sometimes wonder how they decide on where to put new towers.

I'm not having signal issues, as a prepaid sim fine. Cell C mobi site works, and is quite fast. I believe it's some sort of firewalling or network barring on the recycled number that I got. I have had interaction with the technical people since last night. Still work in progress though.
