Anyone know where to purchase these kits? I've found them on amazon but they won't ship to SA. Also found on bidorbuy but they over R1000. Surely there must be cheaper places?

Sorry - but I've got no idea which one you'll need for a new mini - mine was for a MBP.

TBH I've never seen the point of doing that for a desktop computer when it's so easy to add external storage.

Yeah I know what you saying. I currently have a 1TB drive connected via USB that is used for time machine and data (partitioned) so if I go the external route, that will only leave me with 2 USB ports opened.

Actually thinking about it, maybe for now I leave it and if down the line I see the ports are being a problem I can then order one.
