Good day,

I see there are quite a few forums, but could I ask this to be the centralized point (forum) for MTN data related queries.

So if there has been something posted in previous forums that may have not been answered, can I ask that you please re-post them here and I'll try and assist or advice as best I can.

Thanks a lot

I was just billed over R2800 for "illegal packet downloads"
I had a myChoice Topup 75 (R75 airtime) and they say that I had illegally dloaded over 1.4 gigs from mid Feb-end April. How the heck is this possible ?? I only had R75 airtime ! I they have made a mistake I have a problem - since Icannot prove that they are wrong or that I am right. Another problem also arrises - my phone was stolen round the same time - but by their records it states that a couple of days after this happened I reported my phone stolen
Please help !!! They want the money from me before Mid-day tomorrow.

Hi MTN DD,

Please will you clarify something. My MTN contract sim is equipped for 3G and I have been using it on 3G with no problems. Do I have to change anything to use Edge and HSDPA or should I be able to use it in areas shown to be covered on the coverage map - I have full 3G and GPRS signal?

Good day,

Brad

If you have a 3G sim it will work with CSD, HSCSD, WCDMA (3G) and HSDPA.

What phone are you using and maybe you can PM me with your cell number and physical address so that I can investigate further.

Thanks

Hello,

Maybe you could shed some light on why I can never get any pseed better than about 60kpbs on my 3g datacard. No matter what area I'm in or how good my coverage is. Or which apn or sim I'm using to connect.

I did a test a while back with a vodacom sim, and got amazing throughput.

Thanks

Here is a speed test just done:

Below is the data used to calculate your download speed:

* Download time: 72.671 seconds
* Size of file: 500 KiloBytes
* Estimated line speed: 56.1 (kilobits/second)
* Estimated line speed: 6.9 (kiloBytes/second)

I just got my card back from Nashua Mobile. Had a loan for a few days. It is better now. I can get 110mb/s on mtn and 330 mb/s with a Vodacom simcard. So there was a little problem, but poor network quality is the main problem. Thanks for the interest and help anyway

@MTNDD.
Is mtn going to do anything like the Vodacom free upgrade to HSDPA cards at all? Or even a trade-in?

I'm not sure........

Will let you know ASAP

Thanks.

Would be nice if the could. Especially since their edge coverage is much better than their 3g coverage, and the new card has edge.
