Data vs Fiber providers

I cant seem to find this being answered, so perhaps its a very stupid question.

Are you forced to use your Fiber providers data? IE, traditional ADSL and VDSL is provided by Telkom, and you can dial and ISP account from there. Can you do the same with all these fiber providers, specifically Telkom FTTH?

Depends if your Fibre provider is open access (any ISP) or not. Most are open access. Who is the Fibre provider?

Telkom FTTH ties into IPConnect so any ISP that uses that will work.
Personally tested FNBConnect, Axxess, Crystalweb and WebAfrica. All of them worked.

The real question is if Telkom will allow you to cancel the data portion (fibre + data is bundled)
