What about Firebird?

Haven't even thought of firebird to be honest. Have one FB DB running - for AVG updates and so forth, but that's it.

Was there not a JAVA DB or three - I seem to have the name "Cloud" in mind.
There that embedded NET one - not a bad product, but kinda *** too. VistaDB? Used it last year - forget the name.

There are thousands od DBs - some are quite usable for a small app (Personal wine list type apps ).

Small DB, you can run MySQL.

When you running a few mil records, have some ETL and are building a DW, MSSQL2005 is good value for money.
