Was planning to go to the Velskoen Drive-In tonight but with the weather being as it is, how good of an idea is this? Any other fun interactive activities to do in JHB for a sub R600 budget?

Stop by at the drive-in anyway, and if it's raining then go to Plan B. Be sure to park against the back wall if you don't plan on watching the movie :D

We went to the drive-in at Menlyn last year during the winter and the place was packed. Just take a blanket with you and you can sit on the backseat of the car keeping each other warm.

We were parked in the last parking row and I think some people were freezing as even there cars were shaking :p

:D

lol dats classic digital soldier ,these cars must have been very hot inside but cold outside hence the shaking lol.

Once saw the security gaurd knock on a fogged up car window, say something and within 15 seconds the car was leaving the drive in...

I don't think I even saw a security guard that night, but if there was one he would have been very busy. A lot of the cars there were fogged up :p

Drive-In's.... your car has windshield wipers, use it if you're REALLY interested in the movie. Otherwise, make-out session deluxe. If this is a first date, take her to a nice enough restaurant and/or movie with nice seats.

WtF goes to the drive-in to watch a movie?!

The sh*ttier the weather the better...

A 'fair' number of people originate from the Velskoen. :D

Geez in today's economic climate R600 is a "cheapie" date.

Dinner and movies always easy, affordable and enjoyable.

is an expensive date...with household inflation increasing steadily for the past couple of years, disposable cash is taking a hit...for married people im talking about...

Yes but on the flipside of that coin, have you seen the cost of a movie and popcorn these days?

I took the Mrs out the other night and was shocked that the popcorn and slushies cost double what the Movie tickets did. Not to mention what the meal cost.

So I re-iterate R600 is reasonable for a date :)

You can't sneak your own snacks in on a first date. You'll have the poor girl running for the hills.
