In 2008 he moved from Blackburn to Spurs for £17million.
He made his first full start for England against Switzerland on 6 February 2008.
October 2012 he is playing for Russian team FC Rostov.
FC Rostov finished 13th in the Russian Premier League last season.
Wonder what happened to the dude?
Loss of confidence, maybe?
He is still only 28 years old.

He's still contracted to Spurs. There must be a reason all the Spurs' managers aren't giving him playing time. Must be an attitude thing.

He was never anything special. He had a decent season at Blackburn which led Juande Ramos to sign him for Spurs - paying that staggering transfer fee. That inflated his ego. In fact, his ego is still so inflated (even though he's bollocks) it tips him off balance messing up his crosses (the only decent part of his game).

Just because Juande Ramos was willing to dish big cash for him doesn't mean he was ever a good player, in fact quite the contrary because Juande Ramos was the same guy who signed Julien Faubert for Real Madrid :D

He started his career at Arsenal and was considered to be the next Bergkamp. He scored a magic goal against Arsenal when playing for Spurs.

So much promise but such a big head, shame for him.

I remember that goal. :(

Didn't it all start with him instigating that emptying a water bucket over Harry Redknapp's head incident while he was busy with an interview. A while back I read somewhere that Bentley said something along the lines of Harry not treating him the same afterwards.
