Day Spa recommendations for Xmas gift?

Thinking about something in this line for my mom as an Xmas gift.

In Cape Town or surrounds - please advise.
Budget - well under R1k :p
I'm cheap like that :D

But seriously, I'm looking for any good deals you may know of please.
 
Riverside Cottage - not fancy, but a peaceful, relaxing friendly place. They're out in Wellington, are very reasonably priced, and often have package specials. Check their website for current specials.
 
My wife went to the Lanzerac Spa recently. It cost about R500 for a morning of treatments. They apparently have specials running at the moment.

RPM, I have to agree with you! As a tour consultant, its my job to know about spa's and other things to reccommend to our clients. I can highly reccommend Mangwanani. As a matter of fact, I am going there January myself. They have this package, its a Night Spa Package, where you are treated to dinner, drinks and spa treatments. I think there is two different ones between R500 and R800 - inclusive of absolutely everything. I have been there on a site inspection, and it really is worth a visit. You can speak to Yolanda - she is the managaress there.

I wonder how they do it. A really decent hour and a half massage with any proper licensed massage therapist will set one back R350.00

Ja, but I just wonder if my mom will ever make use or care for such a thing.
Bought her a footspa 2 years ago and I think it's still in it's orginal box.

Ja - I know that one cannot draw comparisons between the two :p :D ;)

Perhaps ask your wife or sister to go with her. Its always nice having company to share the experience. Also u will know that she is certain to use it.

The problem with a footspa is that it splashes water all over the place. My parents have one and we also have only used it a handful of times. You have to sit on a floored place with towels draped around your lower legs to prevent the area around you from becoming soaking wet.
