It would be nice if someone could help out with pro's and cons on the various critical points of ADSL. I'm new to this, my order has been placed, and I'm waiting for installation.

I need to get an ISP in the near future, but what worries me is which one to get ??? I'm gonna be using my ADSL for online gaming ( Battlefield 2 definately and RTS ( like Warcraft 3 and DOTA )), but also to download ' biggish ' files from P2P and Torrent sites.

As I would like to download whilst I'm at work, and play games and surf and whatever in the evenings, what is the best route for me to follow ? IS or SAIX ? Which ISP is best ? I'll have to get one of those 3Gb Intl and 30 Gb local accounts.

But I'm so terribly, terribly dazed and confused ...............

ISDN
Advantages - better pings than DSL, no shaping, caps and all that rubbish.
Disadvantages - not 24/7 connection, max speed 128k/s, expensive, dynamic IP

DSL
Advantages - max speed 1024k/s, 24/7 connection
Disadvantages - Cap, shaping, expensive, bad pings when compared to leased or ISDN, dynamic IP

will I be able to do " internet connection sharing " on my ADSL, with both PC's accessing a local BF2 server ?

I'm having a 384 line put in.

if you get a adsl router, you won't need to (they can both access the connection through the router).

384 should be ok for 2 players on BF2, as long as you're accessing a local server.
When you start the game, filter on "-= SGS" (without the quotes), and you will get the local servers. Otherwise, go to SGS, and check out their pages / forums.
