Hi All

i'm pretty sure this question has been asked but can someone pls help.
I just got 3gig dsl (so 33gigs) and want to use dc++. Telkom is my isp. They configured the router.

I was gettin this error:

Your direct connect client has supplied an invalid IP address in a connection request

I followed these instructions to correct the error:

If you received “Your direct connect client has supplied an invalid IP address in a connection request (client sent xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, you have yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy)” in a hub, I hope you didn’t scratch your head about it for too long.

Anyway, what this error message mean is that when you try to connect to another user (to download or upload), your client is attempting to send a IP-address that’s invalid. Got it? “client sent xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, you have yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy”.

Well, just go into Settings < Connection settings, and input “yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy” in the “External / WAN IP” box.

now i can connect to the hub but when i search, nothing happens, i dont even get the error above, just nothing.

Can someone pls help?

Thanks

Kickin

Change the connection type from "active" to "firewall with manual port forward". Then set up port forwarding (the default port is 411, but it's hardly a standard) for the hub in question to your LAN IP address on the router. If your router has a firewall, remember to open the port there as well, for TCP and UDP.
http://www.portforward.com/english/applications/port_forwarding/DC++/DC++index.htm

The "passive" connection setting should be avoided if possible. (Passive users cannot connect to other passive users and passive connections place additional strain on the hub).

i tried connecting to saDC++ today (i have just downloaded and registered) and it says my IP address is not allowed on the hub. I'm using Telkom's 1gig adsl package. Any help?
