DC++ Network hubs

do NOT turn off the firewall. just add a port exception. the default dc hub listen port is normally 411

ok where do I normally do that on the router? please advise would be nice to have this up and running today still and time is running out

Lord Fubar just told you man, create an exception ffs - why on earth would it be on the router???

which DC client are you using?

EDIT: it's in Control Panel > Windows Firewall.

I'm using ApexDC++ and sometimes when I get that error, it's either the username/password, the ip or the port that needs to be configured.

Good luck!

mostly IP on the client side.

i dont hav that router so sorry cant help with the config. what i would do is just to bridge it then run pppoe from windows.

google port forwarding for your router. Do this on your router for port 411(tx Lord Fubar) and test again.

Can't run PPPoE from windows as it is a network a company network so can't share the connection as then the other computers can't get on. I have taken this computer off the domain so that the rest of the network can't be accessed from it

then u will have to forward the port to your hub box because remote clients will be sending connect requests to your router, not your internal ip.
